Help Design a New Playground at St. Philip's Episcopal School!
Come join us! We're building a new playspace for the kids of St. Philip's Episcopal School!
In May, volunteers from St. Philip's, in partnership with Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country, and KABOOM!, will build a great new place for kids to play! The project will be kicked off at Design Day, where a KABOOM! Project Manager will lead an interactive meeting for adults and kids to share their ideas!
Design Day Agenda
The Adults’ Workshop – Wednesday, February 25 from 2:30-4:00PM
Location: St. Philip's Episcopal School, Briscoe Hall
Purpose of the Adults’ Meeting: Kick off the KABOOM! planning process by introducing the playspace build model and identifying volunteers who can take on leadership roles. This leadership team will develop ideas and action steps to ensure a successful project. We’re looking for individuals who can commit to weekly one-hour planning calls over the next several weeks and lead in the following areas:

Site Features & Facilities: Utilities knowledge, tool acquisition, delivery & construction logistics

Community Outreach: Volunteer Recruitment

Food/Meal Planning: Prep Day 1 & 2 Meals, Build Day Meal

Event Logistics: Flow of the day, parking, registration, PA System, tables, chairs, restrooms etc.

We’ll also review the ideas generated by our "kid experts" and select playground equipment for the final design.

Overview of KABOOM! and the community-driven project planning process

Outline responsibilities and expectations of the community for build week.

Establish key individuals with the appropriate knowledge to take leadership on key aspects of our build.

Identify community goals and available local resources.

Work together to get design feedback based on the kids’ “dream playground” ideas.
